Ben Hanson is one of the longest serving members at Phoenix. With over 13 years of training through the Phoenix system he is one of the most knowledgeable trainers at Phoenix. Before having kids, some 7 years ago, he spent several years coaching beginner and intermediate students and is now back focusing on getting beginners started.
Prior to Phoenix, Ben has trained in various martial arts from an early age with experience in Judo, Karate, Kung Fu (including 4 years training and living in China), MMA and others. Ben’s first love is Muay Thai & Boxing though and he considers himself a permanent student of these sports. Bens wide range of experience adds to his ability to translate his life’s journey and inspire new people.
Ben competed in various martial arts competitions in his teens and 20’s including in inter-club boxing & All-Styles tournaments.
Well into his 40’s now, Ben has continued to train regularly and sees hard training and martial arts as key to his successes both inside and outside the gym.
When not training Ben runs a financial services business and is raising two young boys in the “Way of the Warrior”
